Cockatoo Club News Letter No1 August 2007

We have now been operating for over 2 months and can’t thank our customers enough for the tremendous support we have received.

We thank you for spreading the word about our great food, service and friendly staff.  We are honoured that many local customers are bringing their friends to share special events, birthdays and happy times with us.

The Team

Most of our team live and study in the City.  They are always willing to please the customer and are thirsty to learn English and more of our customs and the Australian way of life.

Mimie, The Manager  is often found making birds and turtles for  the kids.  She and her origami skills are proving very popular.

Spike ,the home delivery driver, also backs up as the local magician on Friday and Saturday nights.

Balloon, he’s the big man, is the Head Chef supported by an experienced team of chefs.  He has a passion for extraordinary culinary dishes including pastries, a course which he is studying.

I, Harry, the owner am enjoying meeting the customers and having discussions on all aspects of business. With over 20 years in the franchising sector I am happy to discuss all forms of  business growth.

Upcoming events

·       Fathers’ Day – Lunch specials  for  $9.95 are available or select from our a la carte menu. Every Dad receives a gift at the Lunch and Dinner sittings.  Book now.

·       Melbourne Cup – Lunch specials at $9.95 plus complimentary glass of champagne for the  ladies . Book early and avoid disappointment.

·     Loi Katong  Nov 07 Thai spiritual cleansing ceremony.  Burn a candle and give thanks to the Woronora River.

·     Christmas Parties.  Many guests are already booking lunch and dinners.  Please talk to us about this asap to ensure you and your group don’t miss out.

·     Cooking classes – these classes will be very popular so class sizes will be limited.  More details in next news letter.

·     New Years Eve – owing to a number of enquiries we will hold a special New Years Eve Party in the restaurant.  Again details of this will be notified shortly.  Please indicate to us if you would like to part of this evening.  It will be a set price cocktail party with dance music.

·     Song Kran  -  Thai New Year, April 2008. This is the Thai water ceremony to cleanse the soul and bring prosperity for the next year.  More details later.

 

Cockatoo Winners

In keeping with our aim to thank our regular guests we will be drawing more winners for meal and accommodation prizes shortly. The September winners will be notified next week.

Many of the opening night winners have already enjoyed their prizes.

New Happenings

  • New Food. On Fathers Day  we will introduce  a few new dishes to get your feedback. Salt and Pepper  Squid,  Lard Na, Balloons Volcano Prawns, Golden Triangle Sausages.
  • Cocktails a number of cocktails will be available soon. Your ideas are welcome.
  • Beers . Owing to popular demand  Singha  Beer is  available together with the usual Czech, Belgium and Japanese  beers  which are more popular than we initially anticipated.
  • Ideas . Please contact us and let us know if there is anything you would like us to do to make your visit more enjoyable.
  • Large Groups . The Banquet menus are proving very popular “A” $25.00 and “B” $28.00
  • Desserts  The coconut and mango ice creams are a hit.
  • Home Delivery. This service is available at no additional cost.
  • Take Away . Phone ahead ,order and then collect your meal and get a 10% discount – too easy.
